Customising the subject of your email alerts

If you are using Pulse v5.5.1 or an earlier version, you should go to this article:

Pulse now enables you to customise the email that is generated based on alert criteria. This is useful if you want to integrate the Pulse alerts into an existing help desk/ticketing system that accepts email as a ticket input source.

Customising the default Subject Line for all alerts

By default the subject line of al lalerts with start with [Alert]:

A custom prefix can be added to the subject line for alerts. To do this you need to:

  1. Open the Pulse.cfg file located by default at C:Program FilesPulse for TM1confPulse.cfg
  2. Find the setting SubjectPrefix, the default value is [Alert].
  3. Change this value to [Pulse Alert] for example.
  4. Save the file.
  5. Restart the two Pulse services.

Be default all alerts will start now with this new subject prefix:

You can overwrite the default subject prefix by specifying the Subject line
