The ALM software built for TM1

ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) provides an enterprise the opportunity to expedite application updates while maintaining appropriate visibility, control and security over the components and processes of core enterprise applications.  When an organization relies on operations, financials or enterprise data through a technological infrastructure, periodic application maintenance is typically mandatory.  Appropriate ALM facilities the development, process monitoring, governance, and operational deployment.

An example of ALM in a TM1 environment is updating formulas, adding additional dimensions or cubes, or changing processes, Turbo Integrator, within an enterprise financial planning application.  ALM ensure rapid and effective development through deployment with the confidence that changes are validated prior to going into production.

Pulse provides a best-practice approach to promote packaged TM1 changes from a development environment (DEV) into a test station (TEST/QA) by the significant few who understand the process and results, ultimately released to a production environment (PRD).  Each package may contain specific objects of the TM1 environment or an entire TM1 Server that has been developed and tested for deployment to a production state.

Each TM1 server from DEV to PRD can be monitored through the Pulse server as shown below.

Alerts can be set for each environment to monitor who is executing process, promoting changes, and/or peak time usage. Pulse effectively provides Performance Management for your Performance Management environments.
