Pulse v6.5 is now available
Pulse v6.5 includes new exciting features such as live migration of cube data and monitoring any Windows service.
Live migration of cube data
It is now possible to migrate data from one instance to another in real-time. With this new option in the Pulse Live Migration feature, you can move cube data from one TM1 instance to another without stopping the TM1 server. As Pulse supports TM1 v11 and TM1 v12, you can use Pulse to migrate a cube with its data from a v11 TM1 instance to a v12 instance.
Monitor the status of any Windows Service on a server (Cognos BI, TM1 Web, etc.)
The Pulse Monitor can now monitor the status of any service on a server. A new parameter externalservicestomonitor
has been added into the monitor.yml file to list down the Windows Services it needs to further monitor. It should contain the Windows Service Name (not the display name). As an example, to monitor ArcForTM1 service, the monitor.yml file should be updated as below:
externalservicestomonitor:- ArcForTM1
From the Pulse Web Environment’s page you need to activate the new system alert called Enable Pulse Monitor External Services Alert.
The Pulse Explorer new look
The Pulse Explorer has been updated to the latest version of OpenSearch. OpenSearch has now replaced ElasticSearch inside Pulse. When upgrading Pulse to v6.5.0, the Pulse installer will be replacing OpenSearch with ElasticSearch. The features are very similar to the previous version. All your pre-built dashboards should still be working. There are three main advantages of upgrading to OpenSearch:
- OpenSearch brings a fresh look and feel to the Pulse Explorer.
- OpenSearch is fully open-source, it is supported by Amazon AWS and it is getting updated frequently.
- Pulse will be able to leverage all OpenSearch plugins bringing new capabilities to Pulse soon.
and much more…
A complete list of all enhancements and fixes can be found in the Pulse v6.5 Release Notes (v6.5.1.md).
