Pulse System Requirements
Pulse v6 can monitor IBM Planning Analytics v2.0.8 (TM1 v11.6) or later. If your TM1 servers are on an earlier version, you will have to install Pulse v5.
Pulse v6
Server Requirements
- Windows 2012 or later
- Min 100 GB of disk space
- Min 8 GB of RAM
- Min 2 CPU cores, 4 recommended.
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) – 12.0.30501 (If missing, Pulse installer will install it)
Thick Client Requirements
- Windows 7 or later
- .NET 4.6.1 Framework
- 50mb disk space
Web Browser
- Modern browser: Firefox, Chrome, Edge, etc.
Data Storage and Retention
- Data is stored in embedded databases (relational and Elastic Search).
- Pulse 6 stores detailed data (second by second) and disk usage can grow quickly.
- All data historical data is kept in the databases by default.
- The system can be configured to truncate old data at regular intervals.
Source Control
- Changes to the TM1 models are stored in Git (http://git-scm.com/) repositories.
- All historical changes are kept within the repository.
Port Number
- Pulse Web Client uses 8099 as the default port number.
- Pulse Monitor uses 8084 (This port needs to be accessible from the Pulse Server)
- The TM1 REST API port for each TM1 instance needs to be accessible from the Pulse Server.

Data Storage and Retention
- Data is stored in embedded databases.
- Pulse minimises the amount of data stored by only storing aggregate data (by default in 15 minute blocks)
- Data growth is dependent on the number of TM1 users. Expect yearly data growth of approximately 50-100mb per 100 users per annum.
- All data historical data is kept in the databases by default.
