Getting started with Arc (IBM only)

Any IBMer (someone who owns an email with *.ibm.com as domain) can generate their own Arc license for use at either a client or on your work computer.

These licenses only last 30 days but it is very easy to generate one, it will only take a few seconds.

Starting Arc:

  1. Download Arc: https://code.cubewise.com/arc-download/

  2. Unzip it and execute arc.exe, you should get this:

The message above is saying that Arc is running on port 7070, now you just need to generate your IBM license.

Creating an IBM license:

  1. Open Arc in your browser using the url http://serverName:7070

  2. Click on the Buy button at the top of the page.

  3. Go to the Request License from Existing Account tab.

  4. Enter your IBM email address in the Email field.

  5. Click on Request License button.

If this is the first time you request a license on a server, you will then have to validate the license as described below. Once the license has been validated, the next time you request a license, Arc will generate it automatically.

  6. To validate the license, copy the License ID from the email and paste it in the Validate License tab on the Buy Now dialog.
